Kimber and Tucker Safety Coordinators

NEWSLETTER
Summer, 2016

Date: July 1, 2016

Attention: Current Safety Clients

Again this season, Kimber and Tucker have a few announcements relating to your Safety program. Please take a few minutes to review the following, initiated as part of our continued commitment to effectively coordinate your current Safety requirements.

Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore- Recreate, Remodel, Renovate.
Habitat for Humanity builds decent, affordable homes for deserving families. Through affordable ownership, deserving families create better lives for themselves and their children.

One of the critical assets that fuels Habitat is their social enterprise, The ReStore. The Restore is an economically sustainable retailer that accepts and resells quality new and used goods and materials for home improvement. Their inventory is 100% donated by local and corporate businesses, and by the community in general.

Kimber and Tucker are proud to be partners with Habitat. We encourage you to drop by one of the six Maritime locations and support your community in a new way.

HST Increases.
Effective July 1, 2016, New Brunswick will increase their HST by 2 percentage points to 15%.
Effective October 1, 2016, PEI will increase their HST by 1 percentage point to 15%.

New Coordinator PEI- Brad Fremlin.
Kimber and Tucker are pleased to announce Brad Fremlin has joined our Team of coordinators. Based in PEI, Brad will be transitioning clients currently coordinated by Gary Paynter. Gary will be reducing his client base, working towards a full retirement at the end of this year. Both Brad and Gary will be working closely together thru the course of the next several months to assure a seamless transition.

Rate Increase.
The published Statistics Canada cost of living increases per province are 1.2 % (Nova Scotia), 1.1 % (New Brunswick), and 0.9 % (PEI). These increases will be reflected in your July 2016 invoices.

Nova Scotia- Requirement for Fall Protection Training
Fall Protection Legislation was initiated in June, 2013. Most workers were trained during the calendar year 2013. With a 3 year renewal period, most Fall Protection Training is set to expire in 2016. Please contact your Coordinator to facilitate re-certifications, if required.

Training Courses (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI).
We continue to conduct on-demand Compliance training. Your coordinator can personally review these training elements, and respond to any questions you may have.
